The icy step penetrates my once warmed bottom
Raindrops leave their residue behind
As a remembrance of yesterday
Students walk around in a daze
Wondering which way to go
Believing that everyone is watching them
Knowing their thoughts
Their hidden desire
The insecurity of their hidden self
Reveals through their eyes
They're lost and cannot find their way
Chatter echoes through the halls
Pleading to be heard
But no one hears them
They're as invisible as the person in front of them
And the day goes on
Humanity lives
But the warmth and friendship dies
And we find, we're all alone in this world

Original short stories, essays, articles, poetry, song lyrics...send them all in! We'll post everything we can and will also feature Story/Essay/Poem of the Month.
