Book Review

In a Dark, Dark Room
and Other Scary Stories

By Alvin Schwartz
HarperTrophy, 1985

This book has 7 different stories:
1. The Teeth
2. In the Graveyard
3. The Green Ribbon
4. In a Dark Dark Room
5. The Night It Rained
6. The Pirate
7. The Ghost of John

Summary:
This book is alright to read. Alot of the stories are short and mildly interesting but there definitely was one story that I liked. It was #5, "The Night It Rained". That story is about a man who was driving and saw a little boy. It was raining that night so he gave him his sweater and took him home on the next day he went to the little boys house to get his sweater, and he knocked on the door then the woman told him that he must have saw a different boy because her son Jim died a year ago so he went to the little boys grave and saw his sweater it’s a good story.

The wrong things about this Book:
These stories are not scary they would be scary for a two year old and there too short.

The good things about this Book:
Some illustrations are funny or scary looking. Some of the stories are exciting or really interesting.

This book was a great book but only some stories are all right like the teeth, the green ribbon, and the night it rained.
