How Not to Spend Your Senior Year
By Cameron Dokey
Simon & Schuster, 2004
A handsome prince, love at first sight, a ghost, and a randomly
placed pillar with nothing on top of it. This is the perfect book
for girls who just want to fit in. It's filled with laughs, mystery
and romance galore. High school has never been this eventful!
Jo O'Connor has moved so many times, she's lost count. It's like
clockwork; she and her father get settled in, her dad gets a mysterious
phone call, and they're off to another state. The story of her life.
Then she finds the perfect house and the perfect high school. She
also finds a best friend and a crush. Everything looks perfect until
her father gets another call.
It turns out Jo's father was a witness in a murder case, endangering
her and her father's life. Now Jo must fake her own death, take
up a new identity, and carry on. This is not how a senior year should
go!
Jo attempts to contact her former boyfriend, even though she's supposed
to be dead. This is extremely hard considering a nosy male reporter
from the school newspaper is trying to discover her secret. This
book is ideal for any girl who just want to conform. It leaves just
one question though; can a ghost really run for prom queen?
