the rink's doors for over 90 minutes due to some undisclosed
problem (was someone throwing a hissy fit?) When it finally
happened it was really a good all-around performance in a nice
new venue (the Ricoh centre in Toronto.)

SEPT
30-Fall
has almost come and gone but the winds brought Toronto's ACC an
avant-garde package in the form of R.E.M. Our own Surya was gazing
lovingly at the man who has made most of us cry with, "Everybody
hurts..." and "Losing My Religion". Michael Stipes
& co. put on a good show. He flung his tshirts everywhere,
he was wearing about 3 of them I think, as well these gigantic
glasses that he kept taking off to chomp on the microphone. The
audience went a bit nuts responding to his lyrics and even though
he might command mass hysteria like the Britney fans, we are glad
he is around to teach the world a thing or two about cool, heartfelt
lyrics.
SEPT
27-Faze
was at the Samsung World Cybergame Canadian Finals...checking
out who will be heading to Korea in October to represent our
cool country. Interviewed Louis Kim, head of marketing at Samsung
and Canada's star cyber athlete, Guillaume Patry, (his gaming
ID is Grrrr...) who now lives in Korea where his has celebrity
status.
SEPT 26-Faze Interview with Malcolm from Canadian Idol.

SEPT
25-Faze
Interview with Keshia Chanté. She's on MuchonDemand as
well today.
SEPT 24-A busy day, Faze attended a gathering discussing
the emotional effects of teens dealing with acne. A little later
was a Nike event with one of their "coaches to the stars"
Mario who has worked with loads of athletes including Tiger
Woods and Michael Jordan. The evening found Faze at a great
party thrown by L'Oreal and Inside Entertainment to celebrate
Fashion Week in Toronto. It was held at Toronto hotspot Brassau
(great food samples all night!)
SEPT
10-Faze
is hooking up with a new crew of co-op students from around
southern Ontario.
SEPT
8-Hope
everyone likes the new issue! Some great stories featuring the
the cover story with Bif Naked, a really wonderful Canadian
star, who's trying to make a difference helping out with a bunch
of charities including Stop The Violence/Face The Music...which
aims to reduce violence among youth.

Hmm....a pretty slow month.....getting ready for a crazy fall.
JULY
30-SARS-STOCK!!! 500,000
people baked today in the sun watching a bunch of great bands...a
wide range of styles...from The Flaming Lips to The Rolling Stones...from
Justin Timberlake to AC/DC, The Guess Who & Rush. It was a
great experience...AC/DC delivered the most energetic performance
of the day. Faze was there and two people from our team actually
had Mick Jagger lean up against them to check out some of Justin
Timberlake's short performance. Apparently he's not a big Justin
fan based on his comments......
JULY 25-Lorraine
interviewed pro skateboarder Jon Comer, who was in Orlando, or
was it New Orleans? on the VANS Warped Tour doing exhibitions.
Article coming up in the Back-to-School issue. Jon's especially
admirable...he's a great boarder...and he does it with one artificial
leg. Some Jon Comer trivia....Favourite Band=The Flaming Lips.
JULY 24-Watch for a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen prize packs
on the Faze contest page in early August. Not for everyone but
if you're into it there's some really cool stuff to win.
JULY 18-Surya interviewed Skye Sweetnam for a last minute
Back-to-School article.
She's very "sweet". hehe....
JULY 17-Skye Sweetnam opened up with two songs and then hung
around to watch the premiere of Mandy's Moore's How To Deal. Skye's
tune Billy S. was in the movie as was a very quick glimpse of
a copy of Faze Magazine that the movie producers used a prop in
Mandy Moore's bedroom. Paul met with Jake Gold, the Canadian Idol
judge (he's the one with the suit.)
JULY 1-Happy Canada Day everyone!
