What it’s
about: Most people out there under 30 probably
won’t know much about the Narnia series written by C.S.
Lewis, but if you like Lord of the Rings, then there might
be something for you here too. Basically, four young kids
(the Pevensie’s) in England are sent to a countryside
mansion during World War II and discover a closet that opens
a door to a vast new world called Narnia, a fantasy land stuck
in a permanent winter because of the evil Snow Queen. Once
there, they have to help stop her and bring peace back to
Narnia.
What’s
good about it: The game has the same atmosphere
the movie does, so you’ll never feel out of place when
playing. There’s plenty of action to go around, and
you can switch between all four of the Pevensie children at
anytime. The graphics are crisp with great environments and
smooth textures. Plus, the big battles at the end are worth
fighting more than once.

What’s NOT
good about it: Don’t
expect help from your siblings when you need it because they’re
not smart enough to back you up. The AI fails this test too
many times in the game. Sometimes they won’t join in
and fight your enemy, or even follow you when you need to
get from one point to another. Expect to get frustrated more
than a few times with that.
What’s
the verdict: Rent this one unless you’re
a Narnia fan and want to buy it. If you’re unfamiliar
with the series, then the frustrations will probably get to
you more than those who know what Narnia is all about. But
give it a chance, since it’s not that bad.
