The
exploits of Solid Snake make their debut on the GameCube thanks
to a revitalized version of the original Metal Gear Solid, which
came out in 1998 for the first PlayStation console. Combining
the story of the original and the gameplay elements of Metal
Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the GameCube’s Metal Gear
Solid: The Twin Snakes is essentially a visual and audio rendition
of how the original was meant to be played.
From
the very beginning, MGS veterans will notice obvious changes
in this game, with the most notable being in the cutscenes.
The cutscenes are the backbone of MGS, and with the ones here
redone from scratch, an entirely new look and feel to the
story behind the game comes out.

That aside, the gameplay is a huge difference because you
can now shoot in first-person view. Battles against bosses
are made a little easier because of this, and now that you’re
equipped with the infamous M7 tranquilizer gun, you can put
guards to sleep a lot easier too.
From
start to finish, MGS: The Twin Snakes is quite an accomplishment
for the GameCube, and really showcases what the console is
capable of when its hardware is utilized to the fullest.
