the Canadian arm of the World Society for the Protection of Animals.
WSPA (pronounced wis-pa) has been on the front lines of animal protection
for more than 20 years. WSPA's mission is to raise the standards of
animal welfare throughout the world. Through practical field projects,
animal rescue and disaster relief operations, undercover investigations,
legislative action, education and awareness programs, WSPA strives to
ensure that the principles of animal welfare are universally understood
and respected and protected by effectively enforced legislation.
While our work
is international in scope and much of it takes place in developing countries,
the purpose of WSPA Canada Online is to highlight Canadian projects
and those international projects where Canadians have been involved.
