Be it our style, clothes, (boyfriends?)...there's a point in everyone's life where we crave something new and exciting. In May, Faze had a chance to send one of our star interns Alex Gill to try out some funky new hairstyles. EXIT Salon, Redken's flagship salon wanted to offer Alex a whole new look to kickstart her summer.
When Alex first heard of the chance to revamp her style, she was thrilled like any teenage girl would be but also apprehensive about how it would turn
out. Her first thought was "I'm a writer, not a model." Stylist Jan Vandenbroeck, however, dispelled her fears by doing an amazing job. He created a "pixie-style cut" with three different styles using Redken's new line of products 'Urban Experiment'. The faux mohawk gave Alex the extra 'oomph' factor, while the other two wash-n-wear styles were bohemian chic.
Alex left with a handful of gift cards to give to friends, a bag filled with the new 'Urban Experiment' line and a large grin on her face. "I love my new hair! It was really well done and professional. I use their products every day, and they're great because they're water based and you never have trouble getting them out or reworking your look.”

It started with a Redken event our editorial team was invited to attend which took place at Exit Salon. We were impressed enough to give them a shot at styling our next fashion photoshoot. They did an amazing job and were a pleasure to work with. Now we can't get enough of them...

Owner Rob Pizzuti is an award-winning professional who has appeared in Canada's top magazines such as Flare, Chatelaine, Toronto Life and of course Faze magazine. You might have spotted him on City TV or Fashion TV.
Stylist Jan Vandenbroeck considers himself a life-long student of beauty, but his vast experience in the beauty industry has made him a well-respected instructor in the field. For more than ten years, Vandenbroeck worked as an instructor at Europe's largest hair styling franchise, Jean Louis David in Paris.
