You've
seen them on TV - you've heard them on the radio
they're
finally here. The unavoidable tidal wave of the Popstars-phenomenon
ladies
and gentlemen, Canada's very own Sugar Jones.
Maiko,
Andrea, Mirella, Sahara and Julie make up the vocal group
that's released two hit singles already (remember how
you couldn't run away from 'Days Like That'??) Upon receiving
the album, I was a little skeptical to see what the fabricated
group could produce. You know what I realized- who cares
if they're fabricated? So what
tons of other bands
are!
Anyway
fast forward to sitting at my computer with
the CD playing... It was actually pretty good. I was jiving
along the 'Baby Boo' - singing my heart out to 'How Much
Longer'.
Although not the strongest album - it is fantastic for
their debut release. You can't help but love it - it's
like
addictive girlie hits that make you feel up
and at 'em.
Granted, the guys might like the eye candy more - each
Sugar Jones girl is so different, the perfect marketing
scheme (batteries not included).
But these girls were chosen for a reason - because they
have their own talents to bring to the group. So support
this little glimmer of Canadian music.
I just have one question: Did anyone actually understand
the video for 'How Much Longer'? If so - please explain.
P.S. Add points for not breaking down after Humble &
Fred attacked them on air.
