This
energetic new group is locked on a mission for fame and
are moving in leaps and bounds towards their goal. Since
their inception in 1996, HSE have proven they have what
it takes to reach the top. The band has been winning over
audiences with their stage presence, honed by years of extensive
acting, singing, dancing, music and gymnastics training.
Public performances is a huge forte for these four guys,
as their live show radiates with these talents nightly.
A tumbling pass by the guitarist or bassist is always fair
game!
In
September 1997, HSE recorded a nine-song demo project entitled
Live from the Recording Studio. Due to its local popularity
and college radio airplay, the band independently released
the project and soon got provincial distribution through
Indie Pool Alberta. After appearing on several compilation
discs (such as NXNE Music Conference 99 and Audio Channels
Vol. 2) HSE attracted the attention of renowned producer/
engineer Mark S. Berry and his international recording label
Attack Records and Filmworks. Mark took the band under his
wing and let them loose in Phase One Studios, one of Canada's
top recording studios. The result was the major label release,
Frozen Sonic. The album speaks for itself, and HSE's inimitable
sound shines through every track-- from the raging intensity
of "Vaccination" to the haunting epic "Hate".
Frozen Sonic has been recently picked up for national distribution
by Sony Music Canada. The band is planning extensive touring
in support of the album. First Canada, then the US, then...
The
resume of these road warriors leaves little doubt as to
their credibility. HSE has headlined international university
faculty conferences with audiences in the thousands, packed
quiet coffee houses to capacity, rocked blues and jazz clubs,
ski resorts, and rock venues alike. Already veterans of
the Calgary circuit, hey have opened for such Western Canada
luminaries as SNFU and Huevos Rancheros, and have been featured
on the popular Big Breakfast morning show on Calgary's A-Channel.
HSE also works with the community by setting up benefit
concerts for non-profit organizations through their production
company, HSE Productions.
Hope
Springs Eternal's music lives up to their name, full of
energy and intensity, with positive lyrics and attitudes,
rooted in the classics yet always breaking new ground. The
universality of their appeal transcends genre, touching
the hearts and ears of the punkest of punks, the most devout
of mainstreamers, and Grandma and the kids. No flash in
the pan, no gimmick needed, they back up their chops with
integrity and experience. With the talent and initiative
to take on the world, Hope Springs Eternal is ready to go.
Blending
the psychedelic rock feel from the 70's with 80's pop feel,
HSE lock it up and will not disappoint.
