To be or not to be
Some question whether William Shakespeare’s works were actually written by him. The seed of doubt was first planted in 1728 when the authorship of his plays was questioned in a published essay. This conspiracy has escalated over the years, with people wondering if the plays are his true creations or if Shakespeare is actually a collection of different noblemen writers. Some historians even believe that Anne Hathaway, his wife, was writing the plays and using Shakespeare’s name. Why is it so difficult to believe that Shakespeare is the true author? He didn’t have the education or social connections that would have given him the historical knowledge that he bases many of his plays on. |
