STEREOS release UNCONTROLLABLE
by Lauren Song

STEREOS - UncontrollableEver since Stereos hit single “Summer Girl” debuted at number two on the charts and flooded radio stations across the country, the extremely talented band of five have only climbed higher and higher on the ladder of success, fame and fortune.

Originally from Edmonton Alberta, the all-Canadian band Stereos are famous for their unique sound, distinctive look and catchy lyrics. The band was raised to fame when they first appeared on the hit MTV series disBAND back in 2009.

After their appearance in that show, their popularity grew immensely and soon the boys found themselves with a record deal from Underground Operations and soon after, an album: Stereos was released in October 2009.

Stereos have already been nominated for two Juno Awards for best new artist, and best pop album also scoring four places on the charts with unbelievable hit singles; there’s no limits to where these talented boys could go.

The band will be releasing their newest album called Uncontrollable on December 14th, 2010, leading with their first single “Uncontrollable.” The album only promises even more lovable tunes that are sure to hit the charts. After all that these boys have achieved, they are only moving forward.

STEREOSBut you can't move forward until you know where you've been. Faze caught up these guys to chat a bit about the journey thus far:

FAZE: If you could name three keys to success in the music industry, what would they be?

ROB: I would say, be yourself, for sure.

PAT: What we did was we put every single bit of free time we had into it. If you spend a certain amount of hours on one thing, you’ll be good at it. That’s what we did. We actually spent every open time that we had either writing, recording or trying to get something with the band done. Spend most of your energy on the songs. The songs are what’re going to get you there.

FAZE: What’s the hardest lesson you’ve had to learn so far?

PAT: I think for me, the hardest thing I’ve had to learn is that what you love more than anything—something that you’d work three jobs just to do at night (which is this band)—is now your job. I think letting other people get involved with it, and give their own take and influence on it has been really hard—to give up ownership of it in some ways. But it’s also a very valuable lesson because if you want to succeed you have to let other people in.
