X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
review by Dana Marie Krook

"Witness the moment that will change our world."

X-Men: First class available on DVD and blu-ray September 9thA whole new cast of X-Men for a whole new generation. Turning back the clock to explore the story of the first class of mutants at Professor X's school, X-Men: First Class bring us back to the beginning.

It's the 1960s and the Professor Charles Xavier is still a young man not bound to any wheelchair, Erik/Magneto is still playing for the good side and Raven/Mystique is still hiding her true blue self. But the world is not a safe place for any of them. It's the height of the Cold War and the evil mutant Sebastian Shaw (leader of the Hellfire Club; able to absord kinetic radiated energy, redirecting to inflict damage) is bent on pushing the Americans and Russians to mutual destruction, so he can lead a new world order of the mutant race.

Charles and Erik must band together, recruiting young mutants who are new to using their powers, in order to fight Shaw and save the world. But even though they are friends, they just might have different ideas about what "saving the world" really means.

Stunt man Steve walks editor Dana through a fly-back fight sequenceHere's the run down:

Action: That would be an understatement. This film is packed with tons ofstunts, courtesy of mutants who can do everything from flying, teleporting, exploding random things at will and more!

The stunts are a huge part of what makes this film so great and Faze got the opportunity to explore just how much work goes into all of fantastic action scenes you see on the screen. From jumping like the Beast, to spinning a twister like Riptide and being smacked through a wall by the Banshee.

COMING SOON: footage from all our fun on X-Men Mutant Training day!

Romance: You betcha. Look for sparks to fly between Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and a couple of potential love interests.

Humour: With a whole new cast of mutants, comes newbies who need to learn how to control their power and navigate their relationships with others like them--which can often lead to hilarious moments. Watch out for a short, but funny cameo from Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).

SPECIAL FEATURES on the DVD/Blu-ray include a couple in-depth featurettes about the film--from inception to creation--with cast and crew interviews from the main players behind the X-Men prequel.

X-Men: First Class is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. Check it out!
